These photos were taken in my yard where a garden usually is during spring and summer. I chose this setting because I used to play here a lot when I was younger. I hopped from rock to rock in the garden pretending the ground was lava. Because of the memories I have attached of joy and being a kid, the photo conveys a feeling of carefreeness. You should feel calm because of the snow falling slowly and the stillness of the scene. I composed the photos by taking them at all angles to see which fit best, I also made sure to wait until a time of day when it was snowing.
These photos were taken in my neighborhood, there are lots of trees and woods where I live so it was easy to find good places for landscapes. The photos reming me of taking walks in my neighborhood with my dogs. For me it conveys a feeling of nostalgia and being calm (much like a lot of the photos). To get these, I waited until the sun was lowering but still bright to take the photos, around 5 o'clock. I chose to use these trees because the sun shining through created shadows from the trees and I thought that would look nice.
I took these at the creek near my house. Me and my brother use to come here all the time and explore, we would play games and jump in the water when it was really hot. The feeling i get is kind of like from a fairy tale, with the curves in the water and the little waterfall. I thought the creek would look cool for a landscape because the water is really still and calm. I also like how it kind of splits the photo up into thirds. I tried to use symmetry and balance while taking them.
These were taken of the river, they remind me of crew and rowing. It's the same river we rowed on in spring, but not the same area. It gives me the calming feeling I felt when rowing, so that's why I chose this setting. I liked how the road curves around the bend in the river and uses lines in an affective way. I composed the images by standing on the hill and finding what angles and all of that works best.
These photos were also taken near my house where there’s a woods type place. I chose the setting because I like the way the shadows and sunlight is falling. I think it coveys a feeling of mystery because of the branches falling and the silhouette in the middle. The composition of the photo was put together by using the rule of thirds and balance.
